V is an energy drink from Down Under. Not a lot of Swedes knew that V stands for ‘vitalize’. Here’s how we made the product synonymous with uplifting energy, by creating a situation where you really needed it.

Key emotional driver

We triggered the competitive minds of our online savvy target audience, challenging them to beat their Facebook friends in the V key experiment: strike the V on their keyboard as many times as possible in just 15 seconds. 

impact

The supposed simplicity of the contest meant it exploded in popularity. The organic reach for the promotion posts was over 1 million users. Sweden hit the V key 581 million times (that’s 65 times per Swede), making the simple yet stark physical and mental connection that V equals energy.
